Project Description
BGM SOCIAL SERVICE CENTRE is a registered charitable trust, strives to uplift the weaker section in the society with special emphasis on the development basic needs of women and children.
The registered office of the organization is situated at Neyyardam, which is a well-known tourist centre which is lying close to Western Ghats Sahayadri hills. Majority of the Peoples are farmers and Tribes. Though it is a well-known tourist centre developmental activities are comparatively in slow motion and number of poor family’s remains without basic needs.
The developmental activities implemented by the organization are much appreciated by the peoples and local administrations. Trust is mainly involved to develop basic human needs of needy poor rural people. In addition to this, organization is also involved in number of charitable activities, which help for the development of whole of the society.
Main Objectives of the Organisation
To work for the upliftment of rural people in financial, cultural and social developments.
To conduct training programmes to unemployed rural youth and women so as to guide them to secure job opportunities.
To organize women’s groups and train them to set up income generating units.
To encourage rural development programmes which will enable the rural people to self-sustainability?
To conduct environment related programmes, so as to create awareness on such issues.
Dissemination and implementation of health, hygiene and sanitary measures so as to make the rural poor self-reliant.
To conduct personality development programmes for the benefit of rural women.
To organize activities like village reconstruction and welfare which may help to improve the socio- economic conditions of the people
To capacitate women to ensure active participation in development activities implemented by various Government agencies.
Past and going projects of BGM Service Centre are:
Construction of 267 water wells for poor people at their homes
Construction of 178 Latrines for poor people at their homes
Organisation of 215 weekly women-self-help-groups
Free afterschool education centres for more than 600 poor children from various grades at 22 centres
One free computer training centre for poor women and children
Distribution of 12000 chicken, 800 goats and 32 cows through women empowerment programs for rural economy development
Annual Distribution of school materials to more than 600 of the poorest students

Volunteer Schedule
1 Breakfast 8.30 AM
2 Work 10 -4PM Teaching Tribal children in the school
3 Lunch 1.30PM
4 After school programme (Teaching English) 4.30PM to 6PM We have 23 places after school programmes. Volunteers will choose one class for them.
5 Supper 8.30PM Bed 10PM
6 We have 215 women self help groups if somebody likes to visit these groups studying our different projects everyday they have chance for 2PM to 6pm. Some time we will constructing water well/Toilets for poor families if somebody likes to help physical works they have chance here.
9AM to 5 PM work some time we have skill Training programme if somebody like to attend these programme they have chance.
2PM to 6PM
7 Some time we will do some charity programme if somebody like to help any poor families they have chance here Or they have any new idea for charity work they have chance here. If somebody is a fund raiser or project writer they have chance here.
8 Every Saturday and Sunday no work. Volunteer have free. Here in Neyyardam volunteers home is opposite Lake Side, And Lion Safari park, Boating, Crocodile farm, Deer park, and elephant riding etc.
We will provide 3 meals a day and accommodation. A donation is mostly welcome, but there is no special/fixed cost for volunteering.
English speakers are welcome, volunteers also should be over 18 years old to participate in program
