Project Description
Clemency Uganda is pro-actively engaged in the plight of children (orphans and vulnerable children), the youth and grandmothers (Africa's unsung heroes) in particular and people affected and infected by HIV/AIDS in general. These benefit from our community centered projects which include HIV/AIDS control, child education, micro credit, psychosocial support, child care and support, games and sports, skills training among others.
Our mission is to work with diverse cultures and perspectives to help marginalized groups to recognize the needs of their communities and through their own contribution in fulfilling those needs develop and improve their welfare, knowledge and skills. In order to fulfill their mission, we actively and directly engage, and also place both local and international volunteers in implementing our programs.

To enhance the education of orphans and vulnerable children.
To promote skills training through provision of vocational training.
To build and strengthen the capacity and confidence of vulnerable groups.
To promote and support the health and hygiene of Orphans and Vulnerable Children.
To advocate for People Living with HIV/AIDS infection.
To increase household incomes of members through establishment of income generating.
To jealously protect the environment through promotion of good conservation methods.
To partner and network with other people and organizations whose aims objectives are similar to ours.

Project Summary
Clemency Uganda has a variety of volunteer positions available:
Classroom teacher, Games and sports volunteer trainers, Child Care Volunteers, Skilled trades volunteers, Medical volunteers, Basic computer trainers, Performing Arts volunteers, Furniture and family volunteers and Building volunteers.
Each of the volunteer opportunities has specific responsibilities, knowledge and required skills and personal attributes to enable you to carry out the role please either consult the Clemency website or contact us for specific information about each role. We are confident there is a role for everyone, so if you cannot see a role which suits your particular skills and abilities contact us and we will look at where we can apply those skills.
All our volunteer opportunities have a time commitment of 6 hours a day, from Monday to Friday. Weekends are for tours and travels.
Volunteers are requested to come with some materials to help them dispense their duties effectively and contact us at least 1 month prior to commencing their placement.
One month - $450, Two months -$900, Three months- $1,350, Four months- $1,800, five months $2,250, Six months- $2,700
What is included in the program fees?
Airport pick-up and dropping, Project Donation, In-country support, Meals, Laundry and Accommodation (A small fee may now be charged as our guest house as opposed to host families)
What is NOT included in the program fees?
Flight expenses, Travel Insurance, Visas, In-country travel expenses (except airport pick-up and departure), Immunization, Mobile phones/internet, Bottled water, Entertainment, Luxurious accommodation, Tours beyond Jinja and other personal effects.
Volunteers coming should speak English; the minimum volunteer age is 18 years old, and a good standard of fitness.
