Project Description
DIY Wild is a wildlife rehabilitation centre, actively engaged in the welfare, treatment and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife.
We also take in unwanted exotic animals which are victims of the illegal pet trade. The cruelty of this trade is that these exotic animals can never be returned to a life of freedom. We provide them with the most natural, enriched life possible in big enclosures to live out their lives with other animals of the same species.
We also work closely with several animal charities in South Africa that we believe are ethically sound and have a proven track record for animal rehabilitation.
DIY Wild runs a volunteer program at our centre. These volunteers donate their time to come and make a difference while gaining invaluable experience of hands on work with wildlife.
