Project Description
FAPEFE is a non-political non-profit NGO existing since 1990 which has several humanitarian missions such as sustainable volunteering, social promotion, and training, inclusive and integral quality education to the benefit of the disadvantaged and vulnerable woman, in order to promote inclusive education for all.
FAPEFE directs its actions towards orphans, disabled, large families and poor people in a gender approach. The foundation fight against poverty and social inequalities ( illiteracy, marginalization, unemployment), it promotes children's rights, water and sanitation access, environmental education, agriculture, socials building structures, scholarships granting, educational and vocational, reception and involvement of volunteers, cultural, artistic, sports, musical, sanitary, moral insertion and reading. It also directs its action toward sensitization and the fight against HIV / AIDS and major endemic diseases (malaria, cholera).
All these activities are carried out within the premises of Noula primary and bilingual nursery school which the foundation created the 21 of August 1997.

Project Summary
FAPEFE is seeking volunteers for a variety of positions, these positions include; helping within the Orphanage, Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped, Teaching within the primary and secondary schools, school restoration project, Volunteer in hospital (medical professionals), empowerment for women and trade skills training for school-dropouts.
The volunteer program is open all year round and volunteer placement is Nationwide. Volunteers can stay from a period of two weeks to one year. Your stay can be extended beyond a year on a case-by-case basis, placements commence on the 1st or 15th of each month.
The Teaching program is also closed during school holidays which run during April, August and December/early January. Volunteer teachers can work during school holidays if the majority of their placement is during the school term. These volunteers need to come prepared to volunteer in the orphanage program during holiday times, promote activities of FAPEFE on the web and do fundraising.
The types of accommodation vary from one project to the next. The volunteers usually live in comfortable dormitories or stay with host families. Cooking, cleaning and domestic chores are carried out by the volunteers themselves during their stay whether they are living in dormitories or staying with host families.
Project fees are 300 Euros per month which covers; airport pick-up, Administrative Cost, Accommodation & food, orientation, supervision and a FAPEFE T-Shirt.
Volunteers will also need to cover the costs of; flights, visa, vaccinations, travel insurance, your departure from the program, and airport departure taxes.
You will also need a weekly budget of up to 30 Euro to cater for all your other expenses like bottled water, personal costs, and entertainment.
No required skills to volunteer, however some positions require professional qualifications or skills, all volunteers must be aged 18 years and over.
