Project Description
The Father Ray Foundation is located in the Thai resort town of Pattaya. The Foundation currently cares for and educates 850 underprivileged children and students with disabilities.
A school for blind children, a vocational training centre for young adults with disabilities and children with special needs teach skills that they will need to become independent members of society.
The Drop-In Center, Father Ray Children's Home and the Father Ray Children's Village provide a safe environment to orphaned, abused, abandoned and neglected children, giving them the opportunity to grow into adulthood and reach their full potential.

Project Summary
Volunteers are involved in a variety of work projects.
Monday to Friday mornings are mainly spent teaching English at the Vocational School for People with Disabilities or at the Father Ray Day Care Center.
Afternoons are spent at the School for the Blind, organizing activities with the blind children.
Saturdays are spent at the Father Ray Children's Home, Children's Village or Drop-In Center, organizing English classes, arts & crafts and sports activities.
The Father Ray Foundation charges no fees to volunteers. We offer single room accommodation and three meals each day.
However the volunteer must cover their own costs of air ticket, cost of visas, medical insurance and pocket money.
Volunteers must be over 18 and fluent in English. We ask that volunteers commit for a full school term - 6 month, joining us in late April or October.
Experience of working with children or teaching English is preferred but not compulsory; we need people who have the enthusiasm to help others.
