Project Description
Iceland's Environment Agency is responsible for the management of Iceland's national parks and nature reserves. International volunteers are involved in all aspects of the practical management of these areas including trail construction and maintenance, heritage management and wilderness management projects.

Project Summary
Volunteers work in teams and are guided by experienced leaders. Trail work includes constructing stone drains, steps, timber boardwalks and bridges. Wilderness management also include the removal of an invasive plant species.
Volunteers pay for their own travel to Skaftafell National Park. Food, accommodation (often campsites) and transfers to project site are covered. Various - includes camping and shared rooms in bunkhouses. Personal good quality tents and sleeping bags are a must.
English is the working language of our program. No previous experience is necessary as full training is offered. Nature conservation skills including trail construction skills are extremely useful. Min 20 years old.
