Project Description
Parc Ivoloina is currently operated by the Madagascar Fauna Group (MFG) under a long-term agreement with the Malagasy government. The MFG is an international consortium of zoos, botanical gardens, universities, and related institutions working together to conserve Madagascar's lemurs and other spectacular wildlife.
Parc Ivoloina's objective is to become a regional centre for conservation and environmental education. Ecotourism is one of the key components in our success.

Project Summary
Communications: Updating websites, writing blog and maintaining social networking sites.
Grant Writer / Marketing Officer: One of MFG’s objectives is to become more financially sustainable and generate more income within Madagascar. There are plenty of opportunities still unexplored, such as getting better at making publicity, expand potential of park restaurant and gift shop, approach private sector and other associations to host events at Ivoloina. This position would need someone who is business-minded but flexible enough to adjust his/her vision within reality of local conditions and unexpected situations. Grant research and writing experience a plus!
Ecotourism Coordinator Ivoloina is the main tourism attraction of Tamatave and surroundings, but this site is up to date mainly known for its Zoo although there is so much more to be done and seen (model station, hiking trails, canoe trips, viewpoint, swimming at waterfall, playground, visitor centre, training centre). Therefore we would like a volunteer to help promote ALL aspects of the park. In addition, the coordinator would oversee training of park guides.
Agroecology / Farm Intern Get your hands dirty and work alongside our Model Farm Station crew trying new techniques to increase soil fertility and grow more fruits and vegetables on less land.
100 Euros per month includes dormitory, use of kitchen (with gas stove) and shower facilities, drinking water and other supplies (e.g. candles, mosquito coils)

-Volunteer is responsible for all other travel costs and their own food.
-Basic French required, English a plus
-over 20 years of age
-minimum commitment of 2 months
-30 hours of work per week
-maturity and cultural sensitivity
-Good physical and medical condition
-Volunteers are required to bring their own malaria prophylaxis given the high risk of malaria in the region
