Project Description
Ngerengere River project was founded in the Bwawani village near Morogoro Tanzania; although it has been created and maintained by the community itself it relies on its volunteer program as an essential source of willing hands, new ideas and resources. Our main goals are distributed in three inter-related areas:Environmental sustainability, Alternative sources of income and Education.
We are currently running a number of projects such as:
Eco camp where our volunteers stay, Beekeeping nearby Eco camp, Tree nurseries at Eco camp and at schools, Hand craft, Widows project, teaching at community schools, Eco charcoal production etc.

Project Summary
Due to the close relationship with various institutions and people in the area, we can offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities such as: teaching in the Secondary and Primary School; Nursery schools; Eco Tourism; Wildlife and Forestry Management; River Conservation, Handcraft training, to name a few.
Volunteers will do teaching English, science subjects and sports, Tree planting, Tree nursery care, River patrol, Gardening, environmental awareness creation, Construction and repair of Eco camp, computer training, Clerical etc.
We work between 3 and 5 hours a day depending on the toughness of the job.
For food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), accommodation, laundry a volunteer will pay $80 per week. For some days our volunteers stays in the village and at Eco camp. At normal circumstance we expect a volunteer to travel from/to village/Eco camp twice a week, which will cost about $7.
In case of sudden sickness we provide first aid treatment for free.
We usually provide a work schedule prior arrival of volunteer for the best preparation for work.
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to serve people regardless skills, experience or profession. In volunteering a person will have a chance to deliver, share and exchange knowledge and understanding while gaining new culture.
