Project Description
URF is a dynamic grassroots organization which empowers AIDS orphans, underprivileged youth and women to fight poverty in Uganda's rural communities.
URF was founded in 2005 by young Ugandans inspired by their experience of poverty and seeking to make life better for generations after them. We tap into local resources to design locally appropriate solutions to local problems promoting a model of community driven participatory development.
Our programs include: a vocational secondary school, community library and computer centre, child sponsorship, child-headed family support, youth empowerment, village banking, leadership institute, women empowerment, water and sanitation, food security, poultry, herbal soap and jelly production, medical clinic, medical camps and various health outreach activities.
