Project Description

WEBDEV FOUNDATION is a humanitarian, apolitical, non-governmental and non-profit association whose main activities are based on the social education in ICT (Information Technology and Communication), cooperation and reciprocal solidarity.

GLOBAL EDUCATION PROGRAM


This project aim to strengthen capacities of people in rural and urban area in field of Education and sensitization around issues that affect the society the most and not being teaching or are neglected in school, either primary, high school or university.


ENGLISH ACADEMY: English is the most spoken language in the world. it‘s becoming a real necessity to teach and educate people on the usage of this language.


SOCIAL IT PROJECT: training people on the usage of computer in the areas of computer literacy, data entry operators, software such as windows xp, word, excel PowerPoint and publisher and support student by following the IT educational program from Ministry of Education.


HEALTH HOPE PROJECT: to educate rural populations about the dangers and consequences of HIV/AIDS malaria and cholera. This will be done by peer educator training, community’s sensitization (talk to talk, door to door).

From September 2012 until 31st August 2013, WEBDEV Foundation is seeking for volunteer who can work in field of teaching English, Computer science, Environment and helping in carrying out responsible sexuality sensitization campaigns.


This program is to ensure continuity of what we delivered during summer projects since 2011 in Yaounde (center region), Bangoua and Babouantou (western region).

Expectations:

We are expecting Volunteers/interns to be proactive during their stay. Each volunteer should consider the project as his own and propose new ideas that can be helpful for the success of the project.

General Job roles :


Working on preparation and delivering sessions according to the topics and the Training project (Social IT, English Academy, Health Hope Project…)
Active participation for managing participants, listing them, collecting their feedback, making videos.
Writing weekly articles/report for web publishing.
Volunteer will also work to identify other issues (such as abandoned water points, broken school/hospital/market building) that can be turn into project.
If a problem is detect, then volunteer will have to write a complete project about it and work with WEBDEV Foundation and the community concern for its realisation.


Working details: 30-40Hours per week (6-8h per day). Saturday work: Sometimes

Costs: 300Euros per month


Benefits for volunteer: Airport pickup Round Trip, WEBDEV Foundation T-shirt, Induction, Accommodation, Food.


Other expenses like tourism trips during the weekend will be support by the volunteer himself. But a WEBDEV Foundation representative will go with the volunteers for security reason. For each weekend trip, prepare about 150Euros and above covering (Transportation, break, fees for touristic sites, accommodation…) depending on the place to visit.

Project accept people from over the world without any discrimination, people very open minded speaking at list English (Required) and/or French (Preferred). The volunteer will have 18+ years old by the date of his/her flight to the project venue and also a valid passport with at least 6 months by the first day of the project.
