The Marine Environment Research Association – AIMM is born by the initiative of a group of young Portuguese marine biologists and researchers to who aim at developing research and educational programs towards the marine environment, namely the conservation of several marine species of cetaceans, marine turtles, sharks and birds. Association ALDEIA - Olhão - Portugal - (click for project page) RIAS is looking for volunteers to help in the daily tasks of a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, in the Algarve, Portugal. Volunteers can stay from 1 to 6 months and they can choose to work in specific tasks related to: Veterinary/ Biology, Design and Marketing, Informatics or Environmental Education. ATN - Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo - Portugal - (click for project page) Faia Brava Reserve, at the Côa Valley SPA, is a multi-task conservation project (ecology, forest engineering, organic agriculture) accepting short/long term volunteers. This area has high biodiversity levels, due to its river canyon species (Bonelli's Eagle, Egyptian Vulture, and Black Stork) and magnificent cork oak woodlands. Iberian Wolf Recovery Centre - Malveira - Portugal - (click for project page) The Iberian Wolf Recovery Centre (CRLI) was established in 1987 with the aim of providing a safe environment in captivity for wolves that are unable to live in the freedom of the wild. The Centre has a voluntary programme available to people over 18 with an interest in wildlife conservation. This programme allows volunteers to participate in daily activities, including feeding the animals and maintaining the centre. |
