Our volunteer-powered projects expand the children’s horizons & support their education, while in turn, providing volunteers with life changing opportunities. Central America Spanish School - La Ceiba, Atlantida - Honduras - (click for project page) Central America Spanish School is a Spanish school located in La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras. Centro America. Volunteers with C.A.S.S are able to work with Cruz Roja (The Red Cross), Guarderia Infantil (day care centre) and Emilia D'Cuirre (school for deaf children). Cofradia’s Bilingual School - San Pedro Sula - Honduras - (click for project page) The volunteer driven teachers at CBS in Honduras provide an irreplaceable bilingual education to all eligible children regardless of social or economic background. Many of our students come from various towns surrounding Cofradia to look for affordable quality bilingual education. Iguana Station Utila - Island Utila - Islas de la Bahia - Honduras - (click for project page) Since 1994, the Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Senckenberg Nature Research Society have worked jointly to preserve the Utila Spiny-Tailed Iguana (Ctenosaura bakeri), which lives only on the island of Utila. Several other organizations, including Honduran NGOs, joined their efforts and in 1997 the Iguana Research and Breeding Station (IRBS) was founded. Since 1994 more than 500 volunteers have assisted with work at the station. Kanahau Research and Conservation Facility - Island Utila - Islas de la Bahia - Honduras - (click for project page) Kanahau URCF is a newly established research facility on the north side of the island of Utila, Honduras. We are primarily biology based but welcome researchers from all study areas to join us. The facility is located about two miles outside the only town. It is surrounded by tropical broad leaf forest, just a few hundred feet from the Caribbean sea and situated at the bottom of 'Pumpkin Hill' which affords unparalleled views of this small island. Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center (WSORC) - Island Utila - Islas de la Bahia - Honduras - (click for project page) The Whale Shark & Oceanic Research Center (WSORC) is a Honduran registered non-profit conservation organisation. WSORC operates one of the few, year-round whale shark monitoring and research centers in the world. Our dedicated team of scientific staff and volunteers work diligently to maintain and restore Utila’s marine environment, while continuing the standards of ethical research and responsible whale shark encounters. |
