Escuela Técnico Maya (TM) is an elementary school in Comalapa that teaches the Kaqchikel Mayan language and culture in addition to the government-approved curriculum. There are currently 10 full time local workers at the site.

TRAMA Textiles, the Association of Women for Artisan Development in Backstrap Loom Weaving, works directly with 17 weaving cooperatives, representing 400 women from five regions in the western highlands of Guatemala: Sololá, Huehuetenango, Sacatepéquez, Quetzaltenango and Quiché.

The project’s main facility is a forest nursery, located in the Labor San Antonio in Quetzaltenango’s Zone 9, about two kilometers from the center of the city.  The nursery is under the supervision of the ICAmigos NGO and is staffed by a team of temporary and permanent workers.

Quetzaltrekkers was founded in 1995 as a means of self-sustainable, grassroots fundraising for the functioning of Asociación Escuela de la Calle (EDELAC), with the overall aim of combating the unfortunate reality of children living and working on the streets of Quetzaltenango.Quetzaltrekkers funds Asosiacion Escuela de la Calle, which has two projects - Escuela de la Calle and Hogar Abierto.

The IAG is an Austrian foreign school. This organisation also runs a sea turtle hatchery. The goal is the conservation of endangered sea turtles that come to beaches on the Pacific Coast to nest. We collect and incubate as many eggs as possible.
